Dr. Mohammad Ali Sadighi Gilani obtained his medical degree and specialized in urology from Iran University of Medical Sciences in 1987 and 1992, respectively, and he successfully finished the extensive vasectomy training program that didn't require a surgical blade at the Ministry of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education in the year 1995. He has been collaborating with the Royan Institute as a member of the specialized team of Royan Infertility Treatment Center and director of the Male Infertility Group, since 1995. Also, he worked as a professor at the Tehran University of Medical Sciences and Health Services and served on the board of directors for the Iranian Urology Association from 1997 to 2000. Dr. Sadighi has more than 120 articles in national and international journals and has presented 170 abstracts at national and international congresses.
History
This group was formed to address the issue of male infertility in 1995. The first step in investigating infertility is evaluating the male. Around fifty percent of all infertility cases are caused by male factors. Therefore, for proper investigation of male infertility, it is crucial to employ suitable diagnostic and treatment techniques. Later, along with treating infertility, a research department was added to the group to investigate the causes of male infertility and develop new treatment approaches.
