Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)

Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a common metabolic disorder in women of reproductive age, which is associated with signs and symptoms such as ovulation disorder, obesity, and insulin resistance. The Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) Workgroup was established in 2017 to define interdisciplinary research projects in the field of PCOS and support projects that are in line with the goals of the workgroup to improve the diagnosis and treatment of infertility services for patients with this disease based on the most up-to-date global guidelines and guidelines. Clinical and basic science experts such as Gynecologists, Endocrinology, Imaging, Genetics, and Embryology are present in this workgroup.
The plans and vision of the future work of the group are as follows:

  • Examining the pathophysiology of PCOS disease in detail

  • Examining the frequency of PCOS disease among clients of Royan Research Institute

  • Finding suitable treatment solutions (chemical and herbal drugs) for PCOS patients

  • Holding scientific conferences and webinars on the latest treatment methods for PCOS patients and women's health

So far, it has been held 2 webinars, titled "PCOS and Women's Health" on January 28, 2021, and the webinar "Fertility and Infertility in PCOS Women" has been held on December 30, 2021.
