Recurrent Implantation Failure (RIF) and Recurrent Miscarriage

Recurrent Implantation Failure (RIF) and Recurrent Spontaneous Abortion (RSA) are considered to be major challenges in the field of infertility treatment. Since 2017, the scientific workgroup on frequent implantation failure and frequent spontaneous abortion at Royan Institute started its activity with the presence of experts from different groups of Female and Male Infertility, Genetics, Imaging, and Embryology.
The purpose of forming this workgroup is to participate and exchange opinions between experts in different clinical fields of infertility, Investigation, and research in the field of investigating the frequency and causes of repeated implantation failure and repeated abortion in patients referred to Royan Institute, and optimal diagnosis and timely treatment of patients according to international guidelines and review of various treatment measures and efforts to resolve these disorders.
The most important achievements of this workgroup are as follows:
  • Launching an immunology consultation clinic for patients with repeated implantation failure and repeated miscarriage since 2018 at Royan Institute
  • Collecting and creating a database of patients suffering from frequent implantation failure and frequent spontaneous abortion who were referred to Royan Institute in 2018
  • Holding symposia on the subject of frequent implantation failure and frequent spontaneous abortion
  • Compilation of diagnostic guidelines for recurrent miscarriage at Royan Institute
  • Writing birth certificates and guidelines for repeated abortions and submitting them to the Ministry of Health and Medical Education
  • Approving and supporting research projects in the field of repeated implantation failure and repeated abortion
This working group has the agenda of compiling a book titled "Frequent Implantation Failure".
