Endometriosis
Endometriosis, as one of the common causes of female infertility, affects about 10-15% of women of reproductive age and is associated with symptoms such as chronic pelvic pain and infertility. Despite the advances in medical science in the field of women's diseases, the exact cause of this disease has not yet been determined.
In this regard, the endometriosis scientific workgroup started its activity at Royan Institute with the cooperation of clinical experts and basic sciences such as gynecologists, radiologists, genetics, and embryologists in September 2020.
The purpose of forming this workgroup is to participate and exchange opinions between different experts, review and support practical research projects in line with the diagnosis and treatment of endometriosis, and review new treatments for this disease. Among the activities of this working group, we can mention the implementation of the cultural validation project of the Persian version of the standard clinical questionnaire of endometriosis project (WERF EPHect).
