About Us
Royan Institute of Reproductive Biomedicine has been conducting its activity with several research groups since the founding of the Royan Institute in May 1991, so it is considered the oldest research institute in the Royan Institute.The Research Institute focuses on improving the fertility rate, fetal health, and society's health by using the reproductive sciences, and it consists of six research groups. The Research Institute of Reproductive Biomedicine is a prominent institution in the Middle East, specializing in fertility research, infertility, and infertility treatment, and offers national and international services. It collaborates with domestic and foreign reputable research centers in the field of Research. The publication of numerous articles in prestigious international journals, which is the result of these collaborations, confirms the scientific ability of this collection.
Royan Institute consists of six research groups and four scientific workgroups, each with scientific faculty members who work together to review and formulate research plans aimed at addressing infertility issues. The main objective of these groups is to identify the causes of infertility and develop effective solutions to solve them.
The mission of the Research Institute of Reproductive Biomedicine is to conduct innovative research, develop education, and disseminate scientific discoveries related to fertility and infertility on national and international levels, additionally, the institute is dedicated to developing new treatment methods for infertile people.
The vision of this Research Institute is to achieve scientific authority on national, regional, and international levels, and also, try to enhance the health of society and expand specialized services while emphasizing improving the service quality.

Head of the Research Institute: Dr. Elham Amirchaghmaghi

Dr. Elham Amirchaghmaghi obtained her medical degree from the Tehran University of Medical Sciences and Health Services in 2002. She went on to earn her specialized doctorate in immunology from Isfahan University of Medical Sciences and Health Services in 2013. She began her collaboration as a researcher in the Female Infertility Research Group with the Royan Institute in 2004. She has been a part of the scientific faculty at the Royan Institute since 2016 and has been a member of the Infertility Treatment team since 2018. She held several executive positions at Royan Institute; such as the Vice-Chancellor of the Research Management and Needs Assessment Department of the Research and Technology from 2013 to September 2021 and the Head of the Research Institute of Reproductive Biomedicine in October 2021. She has published 26 articles in national and international journals.
Background
The Research Institute of Reproductive Biomedicine has been under the leadership and supervision of the head of the Royan Institute since its establishment. The Research Institute of Reproductive Biomedicine was under the supervision of Dr. Hamid Gourabi from 2006 to December 2017 and from January 2017 to September 2021 under Dr. Abdolhossein Shahverdi's supervision.
Scientific Council of Research Institute of Reproductive Biomedicine
The highest scientific authority in the research institute is the Scientific Council, which is composed of the managers of six research groups. In addition to the managers, the council includes the institute's president, deputy of treatment, executive director, and the secretary of the scientific council.
This institute's council convenes monthly to evaluate approved research projects and discuss research and educational activities.
Executive Management and Coordination Council of Reproductive Biomedicine Research Institute
In 2015, a council was formed to improve coordination among six research groups and facilitate implementation. The members of this council are the head of the Research Institute of Reproductive Biomedicine, the representatives of each research group, and the Board of Directors of Royan Institute.
Dr. Firouzeh Ghaffari, Dr. Maryam Niknejadi, Dr. Maryam Shahhosseini, Dr. Marjan Sabbaghian, Dr. Azam Dalman, and Dr. Reza Omani Samani are attending the council meetings as representatives of research groups.
